Serving our Community
Bagungi, Kinshasa, Congo
Agriculture & Community Farming
The foundation has purchased land in Bagungi to cultivate essential crops, including cassava, pineapples, and other local produce, ensuring food security and economic sustainability. This initiative not only provides nourishment for the community but also creates employment opportunities, allowing residents to develop farming skills and generate income.
Local Clinic and Pharmacy
We are building a community clinic and pharmacy to serve the orphanage, the immediate community, and surrounding villages. A dedicated GP doctor will run the facility, ensuring accessible healthcare. Clinic visits will be fully funded by the foundation, and prescriptions will be subsidized for all. Children and widows within the community will receive 100% free medical care and prescriptions.
Water Well
We have established a 100-foot-deep well to provide safe, clean, and reliable water for the community. This well offers free drinking water and supports local agriculture by irrigating fields, sustaining crops, and livestock. Open and accessible to all, it improves health, sanitation, and food security in the region.
Breaking Ground on Our Orphanage
Very excited to have broken ground. We began construction on a new orphanage to provide safe housing, care, and education for children in need. The foundation has purchased land, completed architectural plans, and is employing local workers through our job skills training initiative to build the facility. Once completed, the orphanage will be staffed primarily by local women dedicated to providing ongoing care. It will include separate infant/toddler, boys’, and girls’ wards for children up to age 16. In partnership with international aid organizations, we are committed to ensuring every child receives proper nutrition, healthcare, clothing, and education, creating a brighter future for every resident.
Short Term Housing
Built on foundation-owned land using purchased and donated materials, this safe, temporary housing supports individuals in our job skills training programs, including those working in our agriculture and construction initiatives. Constructed by program participants, it provides a secure place to stay while they gain essential skills for long-term employment and economic stability. Once completed, it will serve as a stepping stone for individuals on their path to independence.
Job Skill Training
Our job skills training program provides individuals aged 16+ or with a Grade 9 education the opportunity to learn valuable, transferrable trades in construction, agriculture, and other industries. Participants receive daily wages to support their immediate needs while gaining the skills necessary for long-term employment and economic stability.
Recognizing the challenges many individuals face in accessing education and secure work, we offer short-term housing to participants in need, ensuring a safe and supportive environment as they build their futures. This program serves as a stepping stone to independence, empowering individuals with practical skills, financial stability, and hope for a sustainable future—not just for themselves, but for their families and community.
