Marching Forward: Food, Fundraisers & Foundation Progress

Marching Forward: Food, Fundraisers & Foundation Progress

7 Blessings Project Foundation

This March, we hit an exciting milestone–our first official catering event! With a menu full of flavor and a team full of heart, we turned food into fuel for change in Bagungi, Congo, Kinshasa, DRC.

Let’s just say it didn’t come together without a little chaos. Nathalie and I had very little sleep the night before, and just when we thought we were ready to go, we realized we’d forgotten a few key ingredients–oops! So off I went on a speedy grocery run while Nathalie held down the fort and kept the kitchen moving.

Once everything was in place, we got cooking! Our trays of BBQ ribs, Nathalie’s rice, and skewers were a hit–and so was the joy and heart behind every bite.

Our littlest helper, Baby Zyx, added a special spark to the day. He was with us from start to finish–playing, napping, Snapchatting, and even riding on Grandma Nathalie’s back like a true kitchen supervisor.

Then, the following weekend, we kept the momentum going. Nathalie did hair for two clients, once again using her incredible talent to help raise support for our mission. Brook was right there by her side, assisting with the hair so that Nathalie could keep doing her thing without skipping a beat. Brook also spent time photographing our African clothing collection so we can begin organizing, pricing, and preparing it for sale. We’re excited to share those beautiful pieces soon!

Behind the scenes, my sister Leya has been working closely with us–helping order merchandise, manage logistics, and update the website. Her support is essential to our growth and outreach, and we’re so thankful for all she does.

March was more than just a busy month–it was a beautiful one. Each small effort, each shared skill, and every joyful moment brought us closer to creating lasting impact through solar power, food security, education, and healthcare.

And guess what? We’re just getting started. Many more events and exciting projects are on the way–so keep an eye out and stay connected!
