Behind The Scenes:2024 Fundraising Rewind ! The heart, hustle , and a whole lot of love ..

If you’ve ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes of grassroots fundraising—this is it. It’s real, raw, chaotic, beautiful, and absolutely full of heart. Here’s a look back at our 2024 fundraising journey for the 7 Blessings Project Foundation.

We didn’t have a huge team or a corporate sponsor. What we had was passion, community, and pure determination. We raised funds in every way imaginable—from garage sales and bottle drives to catering meals and Nathalie doing hair—each effort infused with love and purpose.

We had big umbrellas set up to block the sun (or so we thought), but they often had minds of their own—blowing over in the wind, along with our racks of clothing that took off like they had somewhere to be! The wind didn’t stop us, though. We laughed, chased down price tags, and kept on going.

One of our favorite memories? The sucker pull game we set up for the kids. Just $1 a pull for a chance to win a prize—and the excitement on their faces was worth every second of planning. It brought families in, gave kids something to smile about, and reminded us that fundraising can be fun and joyful too.

And let’s not forget the late-night packing sessions. We were sorting piles of clothing, shoes, underwear, and medical supplies, labeling and loading boxes until we could hardly keep our eyes open. Both of our houses were exploding with donations—every room filled to the brim, pathways barely clear. At one point, we were stuffing the SUV so full we had to hold the door just to close it.

We were sunburned, exhausted, and running on love and determination—but it was all worth it. Every dollar raised brought us closer to supporting the people of Bagungi, Congo, Kinshasa, DRC in tangible, life-changing ways.

This is what real grassroots effort looks like. And if you were part of it—whether you donated, volunteered, bought a meal, booked a hair appointment, pulled a sucker, or simply cheered us on—thank you.

You helped make this possible.

Now, we’re heading into 2025 with bigger dreams and open hearts.
