Restocking Hope: A Shopping Trip To Keep The Village Store Thriving!
Every trip to Kinshasa for supplies is more than just a shopping trip—it’s a mission to keep our village store stocked with the essentials that serve Bagungi and the surrounding communities. On this recent trip, the boys worked hard to gather the necessary items to refill the shelves and freezers, ensuring that families have access to much-needed food and household staples.
With a well-thought-out list, they picked up powdered milk, matches, pop, coffee, chicken backs, fish, gum balls, cheese puffs, cookies, and a variety of other goods. Each item is carefully chosen to meet the needs of the people we serve, providing both nutrition and small comforts that bring joy to daily life.
Once back at the store, Ezekiel, our dedicated store employee, took the time to carefully break apart all the fish and repackage them into smaller portions, making it easier for families to purchase what they need without having to buy in bulk. The freezers were restocked, the shelves were filled, and the store was once again ready to serve the community.
This store is more than just a place to buy food—it’s a vital part of life in the village. It creates access to essential items, supports local families, and ensures that even those in the most remote areas can find what they need. With each restock, we’re reminded of the importance of this project and the impact it has on daily life.
As we continue to grow and improve, we remain committed to expanding the store’s reach. In the future, we hope to invest in a quad or motorcycle to transport goods to surrounding villages, making these essential supplies even more accessible.
Every trip, every restock, and every sale is another step toward a stronger, more sustainable future for Bagungi. Thank you to everyone who supports this initiative—your generosity helps keep this store running and serving those who need it most!
